Dr. Susan Cardenas: The Benefits of an NMSU Education



Dr. Susan Cardenas has been a part of the NMSU academic environment for eighteen years, both as a teaching professional and as an eager young scholar. Beginning with the reception of her NMSU Bachelor of Science degree in 1990, Dr. Susan Cardenas has been consistently active and involved in the NMSU academic community, and the Public Health community of Southern New Mexico. 


Dr. Susan Cardenas enjoyed the challenging, yet rewarding curricula at New Mexico State University. As one who has earned undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees at New Mexico State, she understands not only how rigorous NMSU programs can be, but also the numerous benefits and opportunities of an NMSU degree in public health education. Dr. Susan Cardenas has built a successful career in the field of higher education, something that many not have been possible without the foundation of a New Mexico State University education. As a longtime member of the Public Health Sciences faculty at NMSU, Dr. Cardenas continues to be one of the department’s most dedicated and passionate advocates. Dr. Cardenas encourages young people to consider NMSU when searching for higher level education, particularly in public health.

Dr. Susan Cardenas has been a member of the NMSU faculty since 1996.She enjoys being a part of such a rich and storied academic tradition, and to continue making a difference in students’ lives. Dr. Susan Cardenas hopes to be a member of such an esteemed group of academic professionals for many years to come.
